Subscribing to our RSS feed with Thunderbird

1. Create an RSS account.

  1. Go to the “File” menu and select “New -> Account”. Alternatively, you can go to the “Tools” menu and select “Account Settings”, and click on the “Add Account” button.
  2. In the dialog box that pops up, select “RSS News & Blogs” and press the “Next” button.
  3. Enter an account name, press the “Next” button, and finally press the “Finish” button. This new account will now appear in the folders pane in the main Thunderbird window.

2. Subscribe to the RSS feed

Click on the account name in the folders pane, and then click on the “Manage Subscriptions” link in the main Thunderbird window.

Go back to your browser and click on the RSS feed orange icon. Copy the URL from the browser’s address window (http://energyefficientconversion.com/feed/rss/).

In Thunderbird click the RSS Subscriptions “Add” button. Paste the URL for the feed into the “Feed URL” box, and click “OK”.

Close the RSS Subscriptions window.

Click on “View settings for this account” and check the box for “Check for new articles at startup”. Also set your retry timer if you want.


Adding Comments

Please feel free to add comments to the posts. It increases their value. We have allowed comments for up to 14 days from a post’s date of origin (see the foot of the post for that). If you wish to comment after this date then please contact us using the form.

We hate spam so we take some simple precautions to minimise its effect and to keep the cpmments meaningful.

When you make your first comment you will be asked to eneter your email address. This is only used to communicate with you about posts or other site related matter. We do not release email addresses to anyone else, nor do we use them for direct marketing.

Once your first comment has been approved then you can comment freely.
